Roma, Italy 25th June - 1st July 2008

We spent 6 nights in Rome for our summer holiday break before the peak season. We made sure that we took Felix to see all of the sights of Rome which for us was a back-breaking experience as we carried him around in a back-pack the entire time. 35-37 degrees every single day and topped off with a delayed and broken plane, stuck on the runway on the trip home.

Felix made sure that we ate alfresco every meal so that we would be less embarrassed by the food thrown on the ground. Ice-cream never went to waste though. The heat knocked Aasta and I around but did not seem to affect Felix too much. He was very happy to just be carried around like a prince.

The first night out fountain watching.

Inside St. Peter's Basilica.

Daring to go higher.

No fear.

Outside the Vatican museum.

Inside the Vatican museum and Felix already looks bored.

Who's the goose?

St. Peter's Square. Get out of the photo Mum!!!

Thanks. Now we can take a photo.

Inside the Roman Forum. Why did we pay for this again? We could have walked around outside and looked in for free.

More old rock we could have seen for free.

Felix exploring the Roman Forum.

Jumping on someone's old rocks. No respect.

Felix sleeping at the Colosseum. It wasn't that interesting anyway.

More beautiful scenery.

Resting in the shade. Still 35 degrees.

More domes and beautiful monuments.

Relaxing on the Spanish Steps in the afternoon sun. All we need now is a gelato.

The view at the top of the Spanish Steps.

The Trevi fountain.

Did you throw your coins in Felix?

The Pantheon.

Felix getting carried again at the Pantheon.

Piazza Navona with the artists and restaurants.

I give to thee the holy cheeseburger for thee to eat and enjoy.

Amen.

And now for the fries.

Castel Sant'Angelo.

On top of the castle.

Please. Can I get out now?

Flag waving. Who knows why?

Barcelona, Spain 8th - 14th June 2008

We visited Barcelona for a week. Dad for work and Mum and Felix for play. The weather was on and off but there was enough sunshine to visit the city, shop and walk around. Felix bought his first rock'n'roll t-shirt.

Who's the freaky looking dude?

Felix looking sweet.

The very unfinished Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Família. It was like paying to see a construction site.

More of the Sagrada Família. You either love it or hate it.
